Enzo Fernandez reacts as Emi Martinez wins The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper award

The in-your-face keeper might rub a few people up the wrong way, but he has backed the talk on the pitch.

That’s why his stock has gone through the roof during these last 12 months and it will continue to do so during these peak moments of his career.

But after picking up his award yesterday, Enzo Fernandez, who won Young Player of the Tournament in Qatar, reacted to the news on social media.

“You deserved it, without a doubt,” said Fernandez. “Congratulations, animal.”

There is already talk of Martinez’s future at Villa and whether the European-chasing Midlands club can keep hold of their star keeper.

The player himself has expressed a desire to win the Champions League – the biggest domestic competition after winning the biggest trophy in world football.

Now, Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the player, and whilst Spurs are ahead of Villa, they aren’t exactly going to match his ambitions of winning trophies and the Champions League, so it will be interesting where he ends up, that’s if he leaves B6.
