Horse Racing Tips Monday 6th March 2023 best bets and most tipped horses | HorseRacing.net

We are just over a week away from the Cheltenham Festival and with punters starting to finalise their Cheltenham tips there’s still a week of action to take place before the ‘Greatest Show On Turf’, and on Monday there’s four fixtures taking place. There’s afternoon racing at Southwell, Leopardstown and Wetherby, while there’s a solitary all-weather evening meeting at Wolverhampton and we pick out the most popular racing naps from a host of racing tipsters here…
Dan Skelton’s Beakstown has competed in some decent contests during his career, but the ten-year-old hasn’t managed to get his head in front this season, however, he will look to break his duck this afternoon when he lines up in the 16:25 at Wetherby. Skelton, who is ready to unleash Protektorat in next week’s Cheltenham Gold Cup, will be hoping that a 2lbs drop could see him return to winning ways and despite having top weight the 9/4 shot has proven popular with our tipsters. Three of them – including the likes of the SportingLife tipster and Spotlight from the Racing Post have napped the well-fancied contender, who is bidding for just his second career victory over fences.
Remaining at Wetherby’s National Hunt card, Micky Hammond’s Geryville is another popular selection in our racing naps table with another three tipsters napping that 3/1 shot for the 15:15 race. The seven-year-old is another with the burden of top weight in what looks a tricky marathon event, but the likes of Paul Kealy from The Weekender fancy Geryville to build on a brace of second placed finishes at Market Rasen in what is an intriguing event.
However, Mercury of the Daily Post, who has picked back-to-back winning naps over the weekend is taking on Geryville with the 11/4 chance Your Own Story, who lines up for the Grand National-winning pair of Lucinda Russell and Derek Fox and that raider should be a big challenger to the Hammond runner.
One of the most likely winners of the day at Wetherby comes in the 17:00 event as Donald McCain and Brian Hughes team up with the red-hot 4/6 favourite Glory Bridge, who is another napped by three tipsters and looks the one to beat in the finale.
Southwell host alternative National Hunt racing this afternoon and current naps table leader Postdata from the Racing Post heads to that Jumps meeting for the best bet of the day, and the table-topper has put up the 5/2 chance Forward Plan as the best bet of the day in the 13:15 race. Two wins and three seconds from his last five starts, the Anthony Honeyball-trained star has been in tremendous form this campaign and is looking to build on those efforts today, but he will have to deal with a 4lbs rise this afternoon.
The Irish trainers will be gearing themselves up for their annual pilgrimage to Prestbury Park next week and they will have a host of leading players in all of the 28 races at the Cheltenham Festival, so those trainers will head to Leopardstown today to try and bag some notable winners. Rory Delargy of The Irish Field has headed to Ireland for his best bet of the day and he’s napped the 9/1 shot Super Citizen in the 16:35 event. A course and distance winner, the nine-year-old has been struggling for form of late, but has slipped down the handicap of later, so has to be respected.
Over at Wolverhampton this evening, On The Nose (Expert Eye) has napped the 9/4 shot Heathen in the 19:30 event and that contender will have his first run since September, but he was last seen winning at Doncaster, so has to be respected after six months off the track.
