On Tuesday, a full moon in Virgo illuminates the ways you’ve managed, against all odds, to create order out of the chaos of the universe. You’ve carved out a place for yourself; you’ve created a life that isn’t perfect but is yours. Take a moment to appreciate it. This moon may bring you much-needed clarity, answering the questions that have been haunting you so you can finally put them to bed. Also on Tuesday, Saturn moves from brainy Aquarius into mystical Pisces, where it will spend (much, but not all of)its time until 2026. Saturn is the planet of discipline and accountability; in Pisces, it will ask you to take responsibility for your actions, for the choices you make in our messy world. The conditions we face are far from ideal: How will you live true to your values despite that?
Your thinking tends to be more imaginative than methodical. While sometimes you wish you could be more organized, your freewheeling brain serves you well. After all, the world needs all kinds of minds and all kinds of people, not just analytical ones. Nor does everyone have to share the same strengths. This week, though, for no clear reason, you might start to feel inadequate. So remind yourself that there’s nothing wrong with the way you’re wired. Your job isn’t to change who you are deep down, but to work with what you have.
This week, your assumptions will be challenged. Maybe people in your life will reveal new sides of themselves, proving to be braver or funnier or more interesting, or perhaps smaller or meaner, than you thought. Events will turn out in ways you could never have predicted. Faced with a stressful moment, you might surprise yourself with your reaction. Even though you’re open-minded by nature, it can still be destabilizing when the universe frustrates your attempts to create meaning, to understand what’s going on, to plan for what’s coming next. But it can also be revelatory. Let your preconceptions be changed.
Maybe you used to have a clear vision for your future, but now it’s all a muddle. The world changes so quickly, so dramatically, that it’s difficult to imagine what life will be like a year or two from now, let alone beyond that. And it’s scary to move forward without a map to consult, lonely making your way without anyone to guide you. But just because it’s frightening, that doesn’t mean there won’t be many wonderful days ahead. Your future isn’t a blank; you just can’t see it yet. Don’t give up.
It’s your tendency to hold tight to what you love most. When you find a relationship that makes you happy, or work that fulfills you, or simply a good rhythm, you want it all to stay just how it is. You like to keep the ones you love close. This week, though, practice loosening your grip: allowing people to grow independently of you, and creating space for your own feelings to evolve over time. This doesn’t mean that you’re “letting go,” that you don’t care or are relinquishing everything that makes life wonderful. It just means you’re giving everyone, including yourself, space to breathe.
You understand that risk is inevitable, that there’s no way to play it totally safe and also grow, but that doesn’t mean you have to like it. So you do your best to be vigilant concerning life’s dangers and uncertainties, and to avoid them wherever possible. But no matter how measured your choices and behavior, you’re still living in a wild, strange world that can’t ever be totally managed or anticipated. This week, see if you can’t change your attitude toward unpredictability, and remember that taking leaps, walking away from what is familiar, and betting on yourself against all the odds can be fun.
You’re exceedingly generous with others, treating your friends with understanding when they act out and giving co-workers the benefit of the doubt when they make mistakes. But this spirit of open-hearted compassion doesn’t always extend to yourself. You often view your actions much more harshly; you cut yourself little slack. This week, your challenge is to be at least as forgiving of your own shortcomings as you are of other people’s. No one’s going to reward you for being hard on yourself, so see what happens if you decide to be soft instead.
There’s a part of you that craves intensity. Relationships hardly seem worth it if they don’t carry a charge of fate or enchantment; you want experiences that take your breath away. The trouble is that it’s impossible to operate on this level forever: Eventually you need to exhale, to rest your body and give your heart a break. This week, go easy on yourself. You don’t have to keep seeking out more. There’s magic enough in your life as it is — in quiet afternoons, in simple routines, in steady friendships. Your job is to cultivate it and pay attention.
You might find that your thoughts are scattered lately, that it’s hard to stay focused for long. Daydreams intrude during working hours, other people’s voices demand to be listened to, random anxieties pop up out of nowhere to break your concentration and distract you from the task at hand. This week, do your best to be mindful of your attention. Let it wander — interruptions are inevitable and sometimes surprisingly productive — but then guide it back to the projects that are most pressing or relationships that are genuinely important to you.
It’s an admirable thing, to take life as seriously as you do. You recognize that your time on earth is finite, so you want to use it well. This week, just remember that there’s more than one way to do that. You don’t have to schedule every second of your day. Every action you take doesn’t need to be in service of some grand plan. There’s tremendous meaning to be found in the silly moments, joy in “wasted” days that leave your heart feeling full, even though you’ve accomplished nothing at all.
You have a relatively clear understanding of who you are, which people make you happiest, and what you want out of life. You know where your natural talents lie and what your limits are. It’s important to honor this hard-won wisdom, but don’t treat it like it’s set in stone. Leave room to discover new parts of yourself, to change your mind. This week, you’ll find that people can still surprise you, and you can surprise yourself, too. Trust that you can do greater things than you’ve dared to imagine.
Lately, life’s just hard. You bear witness to so much injustice and suffering (to say nothing of your own) that it seems impossible to find relief. It’s too much for any one person to carry. This week, you deserve to find moments of lightness, to get out from under the weight of it all, even if only temporarily. You need to have some fun, to relax your tense muscles and spend a day enjoying yourself with your friends. This can be strangely difficult for you — when you’re fearful or in pain, “taking it easy” isn’t easy at all — but consider it a worthy challenge.
